This edition of the Badauderies parisiennes is presented by Uzanne as “the first attempt at luxury publishing with the help of the writers of the last hour (the newest writers)” (cf. p. IX), most of the authors were regular contributors to La Revue Blanche of the Natanson brothers. Félix Vallotton, whose first book it was as an engraver, wrote the texts from engravings.
